Halifax March 15/16

My Dear Wife:

Instead of being on the way to England we are anchored about 2 miles from the bay. Left the wharf at 6 pm Monday, and have been here ever since. Do not know when we will leave. Reported we are waiting for the Western Scots to arrive. The Metagama has on board the ammunition column from the drill shed, the Hospital corps from WakPoint & other troops. The Kent arrived this morning, and they say that there will be at least 6 troopships & a couple of cruisers as convoys. Tonight we are having a smoking concert. Well, if they had of left us home another week, it would be better than waiting in this hole. It is very cold here at night. The steam [?] keep thier [?] going night & day to keep from freezing. Snowing today. Another cruiser has just arrived. Well, my old sweetheart, I miss you more, & more. I hope you & the children are well. How I could pick you up & give you a good old hug, now.

Send me Ma address. I forgot it. By the time I get to England I will have some letters from you. Time is up so will have to close with Love & Kisses to all.
