My Darling Wife:
We arrived here this morning at 10 and immediately went on board the transport. We are on the Lapland, one of the fastest of the transports. There will be 4000 troops on board. We have staterooms holding 4, 6, & 8 people. I have written you ever day, dear old sweetheart, & it will be a week before I can write you again. I know you wrote yesterday. I do hope, you old dear that you wont worry, always for the best, for I am taking and intend to take the best of care of myself. I expect to be sick but I am going to take the pills, I wish I was home again with you and the children. I know you miss me. I certainly miss you. both at night & day. How I would like to put my arms around you once more and give you a good old fashioned hug. How I used to steal a little sanny when you were getting dressed. I wish, you old dear, that I could do it now. you wouldn't get mad would you? Oh I forgot to tell you. I played only one game of 500 on the train, and one of whist. All the players I saw are only in Dots class. at Campbellton in New Brunswick yesterday afternoon we had a march out, and you ought to see the people hustle to see what was [?] when they heard the band. There are about 6000 people in the town and fully 3000 were at the station when we left. At this town I saw a baby buggy sleigh with a little girl in it about 6 months old. The body and top is like an ordinary buggy, but the runners curve from the foot to the back where the handles of the regular buggy are. A girl about Mabel's sixe was pushing it and you should see it go over the snow. Well you dear old sweetheart I must bid you good bye, and may God bless you & the children.
Remembr me to Mr & Mrs Saurd.
With Love & Kisses to you & the children
Your Loving Hubby

P.S. will write to the rest from England
