How are you getting along these days. I haven't written to you for quite a while but I guess you see the ones I send to Mother. U generally write to Mother then it does for everybody. I have had several letters from you lately. I suppose you will be right in the swim around Revelstoke by now. Did you get home for Xmas. I got your parcel OK. Those white socks sure are some class. I wish I could wear them outside my puttees so everybody could see them. I'd be some sport then Eh. How are all t pretty nurses you mentioned. I think I'll drop off at Revelstoke and see a few of them.

you will see by the heading that we are back in Belgium we weft Overath Germany on Jan 6th and marched 17 Kilos to Hoffnungsthal. It was just a small village like Overath. We stayed there over night and boarded the train at 4 P.M Jan 7th. They put 36 men in a box car so there wasn't much room wasted the Box cars here are not nearly so big as on the CPR. We were on the train for 26 hours. We went past Liege on the train. It is certainly a big city. The country around it is full of factories & mines All day long it look like one big city till we reached Huy where we got off.

Then our platoon was the fatigue party that had to unload the transport off the flat cars. After that we had fourteen more Kilos to walk. We arrived here at 1 AM Jan 9th and have a barn for a billet. There is no town just a chateau and a few farm houses. One good thing is we are moving west so the distance from home is getting shorter.
