Dear Lola,
I guess you thought I had forgotten to write for I have forgot when I wrote last myself. We are in the trenches now and are enjoying a quiet period. Fritz has been keeping it pretty warm for us lately but we have been able to more than hold our own. The weather has been very cloudy and drizzly lately but the later in the year it gets the more rain we must expect. I guess you are thinking of starting school again soon. All the Huttonville boys are O.K. as far as I know. I have not heard from Fred yet but may at any day. I know it is hard to find time to do a lot of writing out here and when one has time we don't always feel like writing. I guess all the people over there are looking forward to the war ending this year. Well we are certainly having things pretty much our own way this year. Well you must excuse my short letter for there is no news out here and if there was I don't suppose the censor would allow it to pass so I will close now wishing to be remembered to Mr. and Mrs. Passmore Jennie and Fred when you write.
Yours Truly
George H Tripp
