Dear Mother;-

I don't think I ever sent you those snapshots, did I. I didn't have them with me when I wrote you in Aldershot and so I didn't send them. According to my pocket "ledger" I haven't written you since I got back so I might as well add that we got home at 3 P.M. Sunday after a five hour march with only two breaks.

I am in No 2 squad now in Signalling so you see I am advancing. I expected to be put on gas to day but wasn't. Gas drill isn't bad. We have to get the face piece of our respirators adjusted in6 seconds. After we are able to do this they put us through a chamber filled with real gas to make sure that each man is strong enough to stand it. If a fellow has a leaky helmet it means a funeral usually. but they make sure of that first.

The School of Gunnery here is pretty good compared with doing fatigues altho we hve to work pretty hard now I expect to pass out in June or July and will have to do fatigues until September.

Well must close now.

Lovingly
Ludlow
