Dear Sis

Your lovely big box of eats arrived yesterday and I can't tell you how good it was and how glad I was to get it. Thanks ever so much Sis for sending it.

Nothing much is happening here now. I am in the Can. School of Gunnery, training now. My address is till "B" Battery since I am only attached. Last week I went to Aldershot with a musketry party. It is about 20 miles Ive had to carry everything with me. We left here at 8Am & arrived at Mitchett Campt at 2 P.M which is pretty good going. I walked to Aldershot town that night (2 mile and had a pretty good time. I also went in Saturday afternoon and saw the whole place. They have a soda fountain at Aldershot but it isn't working now. The only other Soda fountain in the British Isles is the American Eagle Y.M.C.A hut in London. They also sold some queer stuff they call ice cream at Aldershot but it is exactly like Cold corn-starch pudding boiled in a weak solution of glue, if you can the taste of such a conglomeration.

I had a leave coming to me last week and I got it to Edinburgh but it was cancelled the day I was to go and I was sent to S. of G. instead.

Ralph expects to leave here soon. I don't know whether he will go straight to France or to the N.S depot at Bramshott.

The rest of the 10th siege arrived a few days ago. There was one Truro boy- Ludwig Chirdlen.

A few of the fellows who came over with me in Sept have been wounded and sent back to England. I don't know if any were killed or not. Out of the 1-who came all are in France but about 10 or 12. The draft that I was on first, before they saw my age, is nearly all on the casualty list and a lot of them killed.

Well I must close now. Thanks again for the lovely box.
