France 24/10/16 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter a few days ago so I will now write a few lines to let you know I am well, and I hope this finds you all well, the weather is rather wet today we did have some fairly good weather, but rather cold a few days ago, but we are getting the rain today, there is not very much news out here, just the same old thing, I suppose the old home just looks about the same as usual, there won't be very much of a change in anything, it will soon be a year since, I was home now and there is not much sign of getting home for a while yet but we never know our luck. I suppose I am lucky to be here yet, say would you mind sending me out a good writing pencil the next time you are sending me out anything, hope to hear from you soon. I remain Your loving brother Alex
