France 18/6/16 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter on Friday night, but I waited till I received the parcel before I wrote, I received it today and every was fine, thanks very much it arrived in time for dinner we are having better weather out here just now but it was rather wet for the first part of last week but it is fine now but not anything to good looking we are back for a rest just now it is about twelve days now since we came out of the trenches, but I don't know how much longer we will be back for, but the longer the better we won't kick there is not very much to write about out here it is rather a hard job, but I suppose you know that now as my letters are always the same. I wrote a letter to Maggie about the same time as I wrote the last one to you, but I suppose everything was pretty well mixed up shortly after I wrote but she may have got by this time. I suppose you will have lots to do now and for the next two months. I don't need any socks yet but I will let you know when I do. I have three pair and that is enough to carry around, as I can always wash them when they are dirty well I think that is all this time hope to hear from you soon hope this finds you all well as it leaves me fine. I remain Your loving brother Alex P.S.
