Letter

France 2/7/16 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter yesterday so I will write a few lines now in answer to it, we have been back up in the trenches since I last wrote we were just up for eight days this time, but we are back in billets now, but I don't know for how long. The weather was rather wet the first part of our last trip in, but it has been fine since we came back and I met A Roney1 last night he is in one of the Battalions in the same Bdge as me so I went over and hunted him up, I got the offer of the stripe but I did not take it as there is nothing in it and I did not want it, Meg and Victor certainly seem to have quite a time, writing to one another. I did hear about H Ross2 but I don't know wither it is true or not, but I think it will ...3 ... the is quite a lot the same way, we did hear some rumour that the mail was to be stopped, but we have not been told any thing so we will just have to keep writing, I think you will get this all right and I hope it finds you all well as it leaves me fine. I think that is about this time. Hope to hear from you soon. I remain Your loving brother Alex
