No 424447 F Coy 32 Res Battn Risboro Barrks Shorncliffe 28/2/16 Dear Sister, I received your parcle and letter last week thanks very much for the same we have been having a great change in the weather down here this little while back it snowed quite a bit for about two days but now it has started to rain so I don't think the snow will stay very long with us, but it may help to clear the air and we may get some better weather. Well I think I can safely say that it will be about two months before I go out to the front as I have been detailed to take a course for a Machine Gun and the course lasts six weeks, I have one week in now we have quite a bit of writing to do as we get a lecture every day, and we have to take notes, and then copy them into another book at night, so it will be some little time yet before I go. I suppose Tom will find it a little strange being away from home for a while but he will get used to it, I had a letter from home and mother was saying that it is at Stranraer that Father was trying to get a job, well I think that is all this time hoping to hear from you soon and hoping this finds you all well as it leaves me fine. I remain Your loving brother Alex
