France Aug 2nd 1916 Dear Sister I received your ever welcome letter a few days ago, but I waited till the parcel came before I answered it. I received the parcel today, which I must thank you very much for we are out at billets yet, but we are going up the line pretty soon. The weather has been very warm out here for the last week or so, it has been very hot, especially when we were marching and we had quite a bit of marching to do this time while we were out, if the weather is like this at home it ought to be nice by the seaside, but I think it will be a little cooler there than here. I wrote a letter to Maggie yesterday. I suppose she will have gone back by now, well I think this is about all this time hope this finds you all well as it leaves me fine hope to hear from you soon. I remain Your loving brother Alex
