Dear Father

Just a few lines tolet you know Iam still alive and [?] well. Ive told Mother nearly all the news and I guess her letters are read aloud.

I hope you enjoyed your trip and I guess you would as you certainly needed it.

I guess there will quite a number of troops moving over from Canada this spring, as there are quite a number of Canadians in France at the present time.

Mother was saying more of her letters that George Wauless was going to [?] recruiting angents[?]

If that is the case I guess he want come across to England at all.

It would do fellows like him good to go thru what some of the Imperial and Canadian battalions have gone through since the beginning. He have gone thro same experience and were only been in the trenches once buy my health seems to laid it alright and the warm weather is coming on now.

How is the spring at home? Are you expecting [?] early or late? Have you got any sheep yet?

The Farms here [?] are libbeted[?] here have a [?] herd them and most of the farms have find horses altho backward, otherwise The roads are hard for walking here. Mostly cobblestone; but my feet havn't bother me at all. When you are in the trenchs you get hip [?] [?] boots[?] and you certainly need them. You remember Jack Lovett who joined from JF Smiths. He was in the same trenchs as our battalion was and was asking somoe of the lads if they knew [?] but I didn't see him. Well Father this is about all they news.

From your loving Son
John
