Dear Addie:-

Received your very welcome letter of July 19th and must say was very glad to have a letter from you to hear the news of the old home district.

I also received today a card from you saying you sent me another box I really think Addie you and the girls at home are taking to much trouble sending me boxes and other..

I did not receive your first box as yet but I thank you sincerely for your trouble & expense. And I am very sorry to say your card went to France about the lather box and then had to come all the way back to England.

I am now in England I came back to this country in July last with a fever and I expect I shall be here now for a few months anyway. I guess the box shall come back to me [?] I shall write and let you know when I receive it.

Now Addie a word of thanks kindly accept my sincere thanks to you and the other girls for your great trouble and expence and also for your kindness shown to me. I shall not forget you all.

I was talking to Allan in Bramshott when I came back and maybe I was not surprised to see the little man in Kilts Highland [?] in fact I hardly knew him. He is the same boy as when I saw him about nearly three years before.

Now Addie I hope all your people at home are well again thanking you all for your pleasing gift . I am

Sincerely,

Wilf
