Dear Mother:-
Received your very welcome letter today dated July 29th and was very glad to hear from you. How are the hay and grain crops this year I suppose there was quite a celebration at Carvers the last of July. You don't want to believe all you hear I haven't been sick a day since I came in the army so I couldn't have had diphtheria, its quite likely I would tell you if I were sick. I got the papers two or three days before I got your letter.
Who has Wilfred Buvyer got keeping house for him now since Bealle went away. Did Perce's leg get allright yet-? I am sending you another picture in this letter to let you see what kind of a looking Scotchman I am
Well I guess I will close for this time hoping to hear from you soon. How is Saul Mutch getting along is Maggie as cross as ever.
Good Bye
Allan.
