Sept 20/18.

Dear mother

I not had any more letters from you yet, but I'm hoping to get a bunch by the next convoy. I shall be very glad when I can get my mail regular again.

We are having very fine weather now nice & sunny, I hope you are getting the same We had a great rumer around this week, that we were coming Home right away, but I'm afraid there's nothing to it.

I shall be very glad when I can get some English Tobacco, its impossible to buy it here, & this Dutch stuff is horrible, besides being much clearer than the English.

I am still working on the Ration Cart, it not a bad job & helps to pass away the time, I just got back a few minutes ago, from fetching tomorrows rations.

One of our officers got killed under a str[?] bar a few days ago, he had a very fine funeral, I should that about 500 people attended it.

I'm in the best of health, if I wasn't Id stand a good chance of coming to England, it very easy to get from here if you have anything the matter, or if you have an influence at all to back you up.

Dont forget to send me out some of thos snap that Sadie took this summer, I'd love to have some of them.

One of the Boy's that I was knocking around with went to Hospital this afternoon, for an afternoon, he had appendicitis in barracks, & did'nt get fixed up properly.

Last night the Canadians gave a Danse at the zoo here, I believe it was a great success, I didnt go, I dont like knocking around with those people very much, I cant speak their Language & they dont speak English.

I hope the Boys have got over their busy time by now, & can get rested up a little.

Give my love to Emmy & the Boys

I remain

your loving Son

Tom.
