Dear mother

yesterday I received your letters from Germany, dated from 3rd June until the 21 July, it was the first time I had heard of uncle jim's death, I was a bit surprised to hear that Elle was engaged again, & to her of the other Girl being engaged to young "I forget his name!.

I should like to see Emmy's new house, it must be very nice; well I hope that it wont be long until I can visit her. A lot of the fellows form here are being moved up to another town farther north, the place is called Leuuwarden I shall think that it would be much colder there in the weather than it is down here, I might have to go myself yet I dont know for shure though.

We have quite a lot of native N.E.Gs here now they came on the last Party from Germany.

I had one letter from Maggie yesterday, it was dated May 12. so of course the news was pretty old, she said that they that the contract for the army again, I should think that would be a pretty good thing, I guess that they are still voting the right way.

All being well I think I shall go back to live in Canada after the war, I like the climate much better there than in Europe, & I think things will be going ahead out there pretty good after the war, I expect things are pretty good for farmer in England, just now are'nt they?

This is only a short letter, news is very scarce, & I dont go out very much, I haven't even been to the Peare Palace yet, I intend go up sometime.
But I know that you like to hear from me pretty often, so I thought that I would let ou have a few lines just to let you know that I am going on all right

Give my love to all the Boy's & Sadie

I remain

Your loving Son

Tom
