Nov 19th 1915 Dear mother I hope you are all quite well. I recisved a letter from you yesterday, the parcel hasnt arrived yet, they generally are a few days later than the letters, it is awfuly good of you sending them to me, they certainly help out quite a lot We are going into the Trenches for a spell in a few days. it will be a nice change after the working parties. We are getting very changable Weather just now, Frost at night & showers of rain all day. it makes it very unpleasant. The roads are in a fearful state it makes it very hard marching We had a great game of Football today, but our Ball burst just before we finished, so we had to quit. Tonight a German Taube went over our Billet, just as we were having Supper, we don't often see them so far over our lines, although the threw a lot of shell at it they didnt get it, they are very hard to hit. do you know if Ted Pitchford got out here yet, he'd stand a good chance of getting in our Regament if he wanted to, hes in the bunch that supplies our Brigade with drafts, there's another fellow in the same lot, that I used to work with on the Bar U. named Vic Bermigis, I wish they would come into our regament when they come out. I had a letter from maggie the other day. & another parcel from Emmie, she is good sending things out to me, I know it must be a lot of trouble & expense sending them out here. Give my love to all at Home I remain your loving Son Tommy.
