Dear Mother

We are very busy now drilling in Medicine Hat, I thought that we should leave for England before Xmas, but now it will be about the second week in January, that is why I didnt send anything Home for Xmas, but I will bring them along when I come over now, you can address my letters either Box 100 or 3rd Mounted Rifles Overseas Contingent Medicine Hat, it does'nt matter whitch. We are having very cold weather now I shall be very glad when we leave Canada.

I havent been up to see Mag yet, but I shall go before I come Home, I dont think I shall be able to get up there for Xmas,

I am signaller in this regament, we will get a little more pay than the rest Our Pay at the present is a $1.10 cents a day or £4 7d per day English money, & our feed.

The have given us very good warm clothes I shall be very glad when I get a letter from you again, I suppose you didnt write because you didnt know where I was, for r a long time we didnt know where we were going our selves but the finally decided to keep us in Medicine Hat, till we were ready to come to England.

The last letter you got form me I forgot to put England on the address, & after it had been away for over a week it came back to me from Edmonton, as I had to address it again.

give my love to every one at Home & to Emmie

I remain

your loving Son

Tommy.
