Dear Mother

Thank you very much for your letter, & a Parcel that I got from Emmy.
We are having lovely Weather now, I hope you are getting the same in England.

I hope Will does'nt have to join, I don't think that he would dislike the live, if you get in with a good Bunch it all right, if I was him I would try to get in the army Vet Corp. the Infantry is to hard on the soles of your Boots, especialy out on these cobble roads.

Our Colonel got the V.C. Perhaps you saw it in the Papers we are all pretty pleased about it he's such a fine fellow, the only thing is we are afraid we might lose him, he's liable to get a better job. I suppose you saw in the Papers were the Canadians are, it's a pretty warm place at time's, but I guess we'll get along all right.

I'm trying to break a new pair of shoes in, so you know I'm having a jolly time all night, I got a new outfit the other day all except Pants, I couldn't get Pants, I need a pair pretty bad too, but now the summer is here its does'nt matter much wether you have them or not you can always get lots of sandbags anway.

I got a letter from Maggie yesterday she said her expensive eggs weren't coming out very good, they were overdue, but as she could here the chickens chirping inside, she still had hopes.

I've got a French Penny for your collection 1745. Louis 16th. I got it in change the other day.

The Tree's are coming out fine over here, nearly in full Leaf

Thank you very much for the Health Salts, I like the fine, the water here is'nt fit to drink without you have some thing in it.

give my love to all at Home

your loving Son

Tommy.
