Dear Mary and Children

Am feeling fine but do not know how or long soon, have good bunch of boys in our room 4 beds in the room we have some troops from Winnepeg and Toronto and Ottawa their is another boat standing off a short way the boys are signaling to them and talking back and forth we have the second class cabin and it is great i wish you were here to enjoy the trip we could not leave the cars at all hope you are working to hard try and cut out some of it was glad we went to the Beach when we did will write oftener hope you got your money all right We saw the rough country in Nova Scoia there are terrable ridges and deep valleys covered with short bushes and trees. The French places we saw were very some very good well kept up fences and buildins something like the buildings the C.P.R. built out West but the fields are cut very small 4 or 5 to 10 Acres and 4 or 5 times longer as wide great hay and oats good crops of every thing they would run out to the train shake hands and as for something one kid gave me a note from a girl wanting me to wright but I gave it to Galloway he seem willing to write we got out at two different towns and had a route march for health the people quiet but look very sharp. How are our folks will be glad when I can get some mail from them and you tell Irene to write, I do not know what to write everything is so new to me around here the tables are all screwed to the floor their are a lot of waiters and crew we got a good waiter at our table we tiped him a dime a peace one is a returned soldier, the other boat out here has the [kilties?] on, their will be four boats of Soldiers and seven warships go over they are very good ones, I have been dreaming of the boys a short time ago, take good care of your self and see to your business as good as you can my dear little wife make the kiddies help all they can and do not let them out on the road how is the house, very warm nights. or is it better hope Coopers are all getting along good wish I could drop in and see you all for a day or two my dear little wife and girls and boys hope you do not have any trouble of any kind everything looks good just now and I pray we that everything will turn out for good bye bye my darlings xxxxxxxxxxx
