Dear Herb,
Well I suppose you have been wondering where I am. Well this is Cockney country alright. O it's rotten. Take me back to Canada. You ought to see this place. Well I have seen the blooming world. Say there is sights over here you can't believe me if I told you this is the prettiest country in the world. Scenery is nothing to it. Looking over the fields or cities are some magnificent sights. Well we left Toronto on a Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, went through to Halifax and arrived Monday at 3 o'clock pm. We sailed on Saxonia 5 o'clock the same day, arrived at Plymouth Wednesday morning December 1st, took train to this dump, arrived at Liphook, Hants at 10 o'clock pm, walked 8 miles with blankets and full kit and didn't have anything to eat for 15 hours. I was walking but completely dead. Well the weather over here is raining all the time and very unpleasant but I should worry. [fragment]
