France, Nov. 26/17.
Dear Dad:
I seem to be writing home a deuce of a lot lately but I have not done very much flying lately as the weather has been very dud for the last three or four days so I have plenty of time to myself. Spent most of the morning cutting wood as we are preparing for winter. When I came back to lunch I found a parcel from Fern waiting for me. It is the third I have received and contained, sugar, a cake which I have not yet tried, fudge, of which I have tried too much, chocolate, etc.
The squadron is moving from here in four or five days for a place quite a way back where we will train on a new kind of bus. It is an absolutely new kind of bus and supposed to better than anything else and certainly better than anything the Hun has.
I have received all of Ferns letters O.K. up to twenty-nine. You don't number yours so I can't keep track of them as well but I don't think I have missed any yet. I have had all of Grannies I think.
Kathleen seems to think that she has a good girl at last. How does she suit you? Do you think you will get South this winter? You have not said anything to me about it lately.
I went into the officer's club in B- yesterday and had a hair cut, the first for some time. We are very near to town where we can buy almost anything we need. I sent you a small parcel last week. Did you get it?
This is quite an interesting country to fly over. I am beginning to get on to it. There are a couple of small lakes near the line which are a very good landing mark.
I hope you are getting along O.K. and not working too much. Write as often as you can.
Love to all
Gord
