My dear Dad:
Well I have been here for two days now and if I don't get out soon I'll be getting bed ridden. Just looked at my chart. Temp 98 Pulse 72 Respirations 18. Oh! I'm a sick man allright but there are only five other fellows on a 24 bed ward and somebody has to keep the beds warm.
I have read some books played umpteen games of cards and pieced together two big jig saw puzzles amongst other innumberable things and I certainly will be glad to get back to the squadron although this is helping to fill up my six months.
We had a peach of a scrap the day I came here.
Some mail has probably come for me since I left the sq but I told them to keep it for me as I do not know how long I will be here.
I am sorry to hear that you are not being as careful of yourself as you should be. Every time you feel rotten you say you have been overdoing it and will be more careful next time and then you go off & do it again!
I think I told you that my leave was cancelled didn't I? If it doesn't hurry up I'll be in H.E before I get it.
Can't think of much that's sendible. Tell Grannie & Fern to take care of themselves and don't work too hard or worry about me.
Love to all
Gord
P.S. My cheek isn't at all painful and I will soon be in the job again & as right as rain
Love
Gord
