Dear Fern:

I wrote Dad a long letter day before yesterday but did not have time to tell him everything and told him that I would write you and continue from w[h]ere I left off so you will have to get the letters that I wrote him to see my travels for the first couple of days.

Max and [Culoer..?] both went back to their stations last night. I suppose you know that [Culoer..?] Epsom and Max wired home Sunday that he had seen me.

This morning I went down and saw Mr. Metcalfe. He had received a cablegram from Dad saying - Tell Gordon all well but didn't know who in blazes Gordon was. However he wrote Max and Max told me Sunday, I am to meet Metcalfe tomorrow at 2 p.m and go down to Sidcup with him.
Haven't done much in particular except spend money it seems. Got my drafts cashed all right.

While I was in Metcalfe's the mail came in. One for him from Dad dated 25 and one for Max from you. I think it was number thirty but am not sure.

Got L10/pay this morning and have had an outfit allowance of 41 deposit to my credit but have not taken it out yet. Money doesn't go very far here. Average about $1 a meal. Taxis however are reasonable. I rode from Charing X station to here this morning for 8d or 16 cents.

Saw Dooly Harst Sunday night for a few minutes. He is at Croydon. Just near London on home defence, for a while. Ran into Reg Hoeige yesterday. I suppose you know has the M.C. and has two stars up. He is on leave. Invited me to come down and see him at the Waldorf but have not yet done so.

Will write again soon. Write often and let me know everything and take care of yourself.

Love to Dad and you and Grannie.

Gord
