My Dear Son

Just a few lines to let you know we are all well, & hope you are the same, cant understand why we dont hear from you. The last letter we received was dated July 17, so you see it is quite sometime since we have heard, don't think I am complaining but if you could just find time to drop one line saying you are well that would be allright.

Am just sitting here waiting for the Halversons to call for me, they have asked me to go to a special game, the Arrow Transfer are playing a colored team from the states they are called the Harlem Globe Trotters. Oh, yes, Carline[?] has gone to the hospital to train for a nurse she has started out at Essondale for a year and then goes to St. Pauls for her R.N. (pardon the change of writing but Mum asked me to finish this for her. Carl & Emma called so she didn't get time last nite. According to Mum the game was super colossal. They started out punk at the first half but redeemed themselves. There was some good fielding but it was the pitchers game. Finally won 15 to 16. Things have been pretty slack at Boeings we finally have a new contract for centre section hull of the B29 so this should be a little more interesting. By the way have yoru parcels been coming through? And how about the cigarettes? Mrs. McLeod just phoned to say Norm has washed out as a navigator and doesn't know wether he will be going W.A.G. or A.G. Mary still wants Mum to go up to Bella Bella but she can't seem to make up her mind. She hasn't' said anything but will probably want us to take Fred. They can't get a school teacher. Poor kid is going to be so far behind the others that he wont want to go. Jup is parked on my lap he is getting to be quite the cat. Oh yes we have a new riding stable upon 45th ½ block from Boundary road.

With love & luck
Mum & Ruth
