Dear Mother:-

I received your letter yesterday and a parcel form Aunt Blanche and Grace it was very good. I expect one from you every day how often do you send one. I wish I could get one about every two days as the food we get is rotten. To-night we got dry bread and jam and not much of that. It makes me laugh now when I think about the rhubarb pie and stewed onions and other things I used to pass by when I was home. A few nights ago we spent a night out at the trenches doing sentry work until late at night and then we spread a couple of blankets on the ground and slept. I have received two or three bundles of Sunday Worlds which I like to get I haven't seen Art or any of the 98th boys yet. Will close now. Be sure and send me lots of boxes and perhaps a few dollars.

Your loving Son.
