Dear Mother:-

At last we are going overseas. Half the battalion went on their four days leave this morning and my half go on Sunday. But I don't know wether I can get the train or not as were are not off till after church parade. If I can't I will be home Monday morning. I sent Violet a card this morning. I wonder of she will be able to come home them. Last night I was up to see Grace and she said Bruce had not come back yet. but I guess he is back by now. Last Friday we had a big sham fight in high park. The 95th, 23rd, and 47 Battery and 54 Battery against the 92nd and 124 with two batterys. And in the afternoon we were received by the Duke. Your box came the other day and is all gone now. They measured us yesterday for new uniforms. I guess we will get them soon. Last pay day which was Saturday I received the $10 for my uniform. But the next pay we get will be in England I guess. I hope I can see Violet before we go. It was raining this morning so were down at the ranges under the grandstand shooting. Last Saturday night and Sunday I was on Quarter guard so did not go down to the beach. Uncle Dan had Aunt Grace and Aunt Florrie around in his new car Sunday. I haven't seen it yet. Love to all.
