Dearest Mother.

I arrived safe. The train got in about 10 after 8. It came straight through I didn't have to change at Hamilton. Unce Dan, Aunt Blanch and Aunt Elizabeth and Bruce went down to the station in the car to meet me but I missed them. I went up to Aunt Florie's and they came back from the station and we had supper here. They gave me a ring with 95 on it is very nice and the nicest wrist watch. I wish you could seem them the watch only needs winding every eight days and has illuminate dials so you can see it in the dark. This morning I took all my luggage back to camp but we did not go out on parade. All we did was sign the pay roll and get our new uniforms. And then I came up here for supper. Tomorrow we have our medical exam. But I don't know when we go yet. This will have to all this time. I will write again soon. Love to all.

Your loving Son Jay
