Dear Mrs Thomas,

Received your kind parcel with great thanks.

The contents are exceedingly useful and appetizing, appreciated by one and all of our patients that have partaken of its niceties in this ward.

My wounds are proceeding first class, and I have what one may term two lucky hits.

This Hospital is a civilian Hospital, but it is splendidly Equipped, and the treatment is first class.

Give my kind remembrance to all of my friends, and I wish you one and all a Happy Xmas, and a Happy and Prosperous New Year, hoping that by this time next year this Titanic struggle will be over, permitting all the boys to return to Canada.
