Dear Sir:-
Re - # 661146 Pte. N.G. Steele, 14th Bn.
With the reference of the estate of your late son, the soldier above named, I have to advise what owing to the demobilization of the Canadian Estates Branch in England a Will was found under which the deceased's mother was named sole beneficiary.
As you are aware a cheque for the sum of $ 161.31, being the total balance of pay due this estate was forwarded to you on the 19th February last, and under the unfortunate circumstance of this Will not having come to light before, it is asked that this matter be amicably arranged between yourself and your wife.
In the event however of your late son having left property, it may be necessary for the Will at some future time to be probated, and if as, this Directorate will be pleased to furnish you with every facility for this purpose.
Yours Faithfully,
FOR DIRECTOR MILIRATY ESTATES
