My Dear Jessie:
Just a few lines while I have nothing else to do. I have not had a letter from you for so long I don't seem to be able to think of anything to write about.
I had a nice big box from Sadie a few days which I enjoyed very much. I also got the cake you sent I can't say that is was good because it was so long on the way that it was spoiled the next time take it out of the pan you cook it in because it takes so long for some of the parcels to come they spoil. Well Jessie I sent you a small parcel a few days ago a tea apron if it is too big or you don't like it you can just do what you like with it but I thought you would like to have a souvenir from France. I am still working in coy office I like it much better than drill every day when we are out of the line we got come knew officers lately I think they are a pretty good bunch.
How is conscription going in Can. we are having a great time about it I don't know just how to vote I guess I will have to make up my mind tonight as we have to vote tomorrow I guess I will have to vote for Con.. I guess it will be the best thing but I hope it will not touch any of our family if any of the boy have to come I hope they will get into something good say the Flying Corp or the A.S.C. Tell me how father votes I hate to see any more boys come over but I guess it is the only way will I will stop my talk hope you get the [?] O.K. and a merry xmas to Father and all
