LETTER OF SYMPATHY
Mr. William Pratt received the following sympathetic letter concerning the death in France of his only son, Cecil:
France, August 14th, 1917
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pratt:
Allow me to extend to you the sincerest sympathy of myself and the men of the Battery on the loss of your son. We all feel a deep personal loss as he was very popular among the officers and men of the Battery, and our only consolation is that he died like a hero in the cause of liberty and justice.
He was buried in a military cemetery with his comrades. His personal effects will be forwarded immediately.
Yours most sincerely.
J.ERWIN LEAN.
