My dear Dad,
I have not had time to write my usual letter in time for today's post but am writing this short note instead.
I submitted my papers to the O.C. and he returned them, saying that he could not accept them without the official permission from the office. This is hanging everything up! I wrote for the permission on 25 June and refreshed for same on the 9th inst. Could you please call at the office and find out why there is the delay.
Shall write at more length tonight.
Au revoir,
Your affectionate son,
Bert
PS. Probably moving tomorrow - don't worry if you don't hear from me for a day or two.
