Form D.

WAR OFFICE,
21st February 1917.

Dear Sir,

In reply to your letter of November 6th 1916, I have to say that Lieutenant Hart Leech is reported as buried at a point in the rear of Mouquet Farm, Thiepval, N.E. of Albert.

For military reasons it is not at present possible to make a thorough search in this neighbourhood, but if at a later date the officers of the Graves Registration Units in that area are able to locate the grave I will inform you at the first possible moment.

I am very sorry not to be able to sent you a more satisfactory reply. The grave of Pte A.C. Steele has not yet been registered in this office, but enquiries are being made, and I will write to you again as soon as I am able to obtain any information.

Yours faithfully,
[signature]
CAPTAIN, Staff Capt.
FOR
BRIGADIER-GENERAL.
Director of Graves Registration and Enquiries
