Dear Elsie.

On Friday I received a shipment of five letters from you. I am very interested in all your letters, and always read them first.

Since I last wrote to you things have been very quiet. Last evening Capt. Marling and I went down to Folkestone to see “Peg o’ my Heart”. It was fine and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The other day I mailed you a couple of handkerchiefs as a birthday present. I sent them as I could think of nothing else. Please write and tell me anything you would like, while I’m in England and have a chance to get it. Both the handkerchiefs are of excellent linen edged with the finest of hand-made lace – one with Buckingham point lace and the other with an original pattern that you’ll never see another piece of. I can easily get the most wonderful lace and embroidery very cheap if you would like anything in that line. Please tell me definitely just what you want.

Also I can get sheet music good and cheap. There is a lot of excellent music now. I’ll put in the names of some of the best. Please write and tell me if they will be of use to you, what ones are new, what ones you know, and whether you like them or not.

So long for this time then.
Your loving brother.
Grant Mowat.
