Dear Father,
Just a few lines to let you know I am quite well. I suppose you received my telegram from Shorncliffe. I left one with a Sergeant in our company to sent to you, as we left too early in the morning to send one myself. Did you receive a photo of me from Folkestone? I had one taken, but I only had time to see the proofs. I made arrangements to have one mailed to you, also one to Jack, Doris, Home, and Grandma. We are allowed to say where we are now, but not after we leave for the front. Edwin Davey is in this camp too. I was talking with him a few minutes ago. Well I must say good bye just now. Will you reforward this to mother?
Your Loving Son
