Dear Mother,
Your letter came to-day at noon. I have just come off parade. I am in the signallers again but send your letters to the camp address as before. Yesterday we were up in High Park recon…tering and captured all the scouts who were the enemy. I wish Grace would stay home with you. I think you will be very lonely without her to help you. We expect to be paid soon now. But I don't suppose I will get very much this time. The skating must be fine now as it is very cold over here. I very near froze last night. It will not be very long now before I come home again hope the skating is good when I do. I was up to Uncle Dan's the other night for supper and will try and go up tomorrow night and see Grace.
Your loving Son Jay.
