Earl Grey Hospital

Mar.21/19
Dear Mother:
Received your letter of the 16th yesterday & the one of the 19th this morning also a magazine from Aunt Mabel. Mrs. Stewart was up to see me on Wednesday and said that Mrs. Parker told her I was working at the Post and she was going to phone me up but kept putting it off. [?] you Jim Raines is in the same ward a [?] rheumatism or something like it and they [?] about sending him to Banff for treatment. [?] came in Regina and was up visiting the Andrews as they farmed near one another before the war. I have quite a few visitors come to see me now and Mrs. Webb. the housekeeper for the Andrews. came up to see me yesterday and told me about [?]. The girls were up on Saturday and Sunday last but cannot come up in the week as they are working but they would allow visitors in the evening some times and asked one of the fellows from the office to come up and see me but he has not come yet. It would not have been necessary to fill that form in as it is only to see if I wish further insurance and will send me the details but will see what it is anyway. They still keep me on milk diet but cannot get anything out of the doctor as to what will be done so will just have to sit patient and wait. There is a lady instructor from the Soldiers Civil Re establishment here every day giving us instructions on basket, bead, fancy work, wood carving or anything we wish to take up. I am now doing a bead necklace but as the beads are now uniform will not turn out as neat as I would like it and will try a wicker basket next. It keeps us busy anyway and you should [?] of the beautiful fancy work some of the [?] done and they raffle them off when finished [?]. weather is getting fairly mild but had a couple of storms in the past week. There is nothing to speak of so will close with love to all
Your loving son
Gordon
