Dear Mother,
Well things are going on about the same old way. Have had no letters since I last wrote.
I am changed to another unit again but am still doing fatigues etc.
Have had no letters since I was put in this unit.
I hear they are going to bring conscription into Canada pretty soon.
Things seem to be looking a little better this week on all fronts and they seem to be making some impression on the submarines.
We are having fair weather here now altho it is inclined to be wet. It is dull but close this afternoon and everything is fresh and blooming. We had a rather dreary long winter and time passed slow in the convalescent hospital.
I was trying to get up to Tonbridge Wells but it is impossible to get a pass here. They have got the discipline into the Canucks now. They soak them pretty heavy too. We have to be in by 9:30. We can't get a pass. We can't get a beer at noon. We can't go into a restaurant during parade hours. We can't buy fish and chips after 9n at night.
Well nothing doing so no news.
Love to all,
Jack
