Dear Lydia:
Well Sis. How are you these last few days and also the family at Bathurst and every-body else that know. I have changed my camp again since I last wrote and am in just as good a place as ever only the food here isn't half as good as what we got at the other camp, but I know that the time we were having and the food we got to eat was too good to last long. In fact things that are any-ways good at all, most always lasts the least time. But I suppose we can't always expect to enjoy accisebees and I thought it wouldn't be so long before we would have to come down to the old feed again. Well any-way we are sleeping in houses now in a certain French village and we have a fairly good place to sleep and we are night in a town so it is a little more interesting that most places I have ever been in yet, am writing this at the Y.M.C.A. as you can see by the top of the pages and it is a good place to write in to, but just at present it isn't going I ain't near the firring line yet and don't think we will for some long time yet so every-thing is fine and dandy. My address is #513409 Pte JS Matthews, R.C.R.B.?.F. France, that will reach me O.K. I don't have so much time to write now, but this is Saturday afternoon and we always have a half holiday today. So I thought I would take some of the time up in writing letters. I wrote Mamma last night. I should write to Eunice too because she always writes me, but I guess she won't mind if I don't write as I want to have a game of ball and if a fellow ain't there on the spot when they start, he can't play because there are always so many who want to play. However I will write her without fail as soon as ever I can get arount to it. There really isn't much to write about so I guess I had better close for now, So Bye-Bye for the present

Your loving Brother
Lots of love to all
Jack
