Jan. 5, 1944 - Hello, Mom - Just before the New Year started I rec'd a card from Geneva with your message about the baby. Needless to say, I was tickled pink. I suppose that was all that Brenda & Bob needed to make them the happiest people in the world. They chose a beautiful name for the kid but then she'll probably grow up to justify it. Send Brenda & Bob my love and congratulations. Latest mail from you Sept. 23, Oct. 9 and 10. Last night 300 [?] arrived from you. Please don't worry about parcels from Chick - I'm not the least disappointed. Easy come - easy go! When I don't talk about my experiences, it's because I haven't had any. So don't take a dead silence for modesty. Eva Chambers nephew, Earle Davis, is in this camp, but the other one is at another camp. Red Cross parcels coming in regularly so far. Xmas was quiet, good meal, not much enthusiasm. Love to all, Syd.
