Feb. 24th. Wednesday
I got up at 6 a.m. and went for a walk on deck before breakfast. I ventured down to the dinning room, but I had to beat a hasty retreat after eating a little porridge and taking a cup of coffee. There was liver and bacon for breakfast, but I could not wait for that. The cruiser Essex is now out of sight but I don't doubt but what she is knocking around somewhere ahead. This afternoon I was inoculated again and my arm is very sore so that between seasickness and a sore arm I am feeling very good. Our escort has come back to us again and the Glory is now about 10 miles in our rear. I could not go down to supper again tonight but I hope I shall soon be better.
