Dear Mother:-

Received your box a few days ago and was so glad to get the fountain pen, diary, etc.
The pen was especially welcome, since I haven't had one for over 6 months. Thanks ever so much, mother dear for sending it.

The last letter I had from you came on the 17th of this month. I don't what has happened to the mail. Thre has been two Canadian mails since then but no American mail at all.

Yesterday I mailed you two boxes of small articles and a few nights ago I sent some snaps & photo home. I just wanted to get rid of them. You will keep them O.K.

Was talking to Ges Puns yesterday I sold him my oilskin slicker for 10 bob[?]. He was wanting one.

I don't know when I'll be going to France. It may be soon and it may not be for months.

Did I ever tell you that Harold Luckett was killed. I saw his name in the "Canada" a few days ago.

I suppose you know by now that Grant McKenzie's brother Russell was wounded, also Clayton McCully, McGee, who worked in the P.O. and several other fellows who got blighties. I don't know how Ralph has come out or Doug Watem[?]. I haven't seen their names yet.

The last letter I had from Sis came the 8th. Did she go to Dartmouth
