Dear Miss Nicholson
I was [?]fully pleased to receive a letter from you and more so to hear that you had received your brothers effects. I met a friend of yours some little time back who said he had received a letter from you and wanted to know all details of your dear brother's death but there was absolutely nothing to add to what I had already written you. D.A. McPherson arrived here yesterday looking very sick and [?] me to kindly remember him to you. Yes I am still with the M.G. Section and sorry to say there very few of the original section as we lost heavily in the Push. I know you will be pleased to hear I have been awarded the Military Medal. Kindly give my kind regard to your father.
Kindest Regard to self.
Yrs Sincerely
R. [?] Lane [?]
