Dear Folks,
I thought I would drop you a few lines again to-day. I wrote you in Germany a few days after our recapture by the yanks. I am feeling very good now and getting the best of care. We flew from Germany on Tues and are leaving from here for England to-day. We are still being looked after by the yanks. We have American uniforms but will get reds when we get back to-day. I had a few pictures taken yesterday of some of us in Yank uniforms, I have quite a few souvenirs to take back if I can get them through.
I expect to be stationed near the barracks where Ivan was last year. Hope he's still around. We get leave in Eng within four days and we hope to fly to Canada too. I sure hope to do as it will save a lot of time. I can't get back soon enough. Last night I was out to a show in town and saw a very good picture.
I sure wish I could have made home for my birthday but expect I'll be spending it on leave. Don't know where I'll go yet but I intend seeing several places in Eng & Scotland.
If Ivan is still in Eng could you let him know that I'm back. I think I'll be able to find him but he'll want to enquire about me. I can't remember his address. Whether it's #1.6.6.D or #4 V.R.D I should find it at the Bdn Records Office.
Well I think this will be all for to-day Hoping you are all well at home. Will write again soon.
Your loving son,
Gerald
