Dear Mr. and Mrs. Baker,

It is a policy if mine to write a note to the parents of the boys who are posted to this station. Your son - Jim, was among those who reported in to me yesterday. He looks well and happy, and will be quite busy for the next few weeks.

I had a short talk with him; hope to see him often, both at his work and our services. He has an opportunity to attend services here; I hope he takes advantage of it.

He has my assurance of any assistance or advice should he request the same.

During this period of anxiety, you will want to join us - I know, in our prayers for an early victory and the safe return of our boys.
