Dear Emma

I received a letter from Jack today enclosing one of yours and I imagine that I did not answer your last.

We have been very busy lately. There are two other Imperial Casualty Clearing Stations with us here and we see quite a lot of the wounded, a number of them Canadians.

This is a queer old world place, quaint, rather squalid.
