My Dearest
I was so delighted to receive your dear letter last night. I have some good news for you, my name went to H.Q. yesterday with four others, which means that I will be one of the first five to go on leave, but when the warrants will come through I am unable to tell you. They do not know in our office in what order the warrants will come. Mine might be the first or the fifth, but anyhow I shouldd not have to wait more than two weeks at the most.
Dearest I am so anxious to come, I do wish I could say definitely when I can come, but I won't know until the morning that I leave here.
Now that it seems so near I do wish I could come when you are having your holiday. Dearest if this reaches you before your holiday commences, I wonder if it too much to ask you to postpone it for a little while.
I hated to ask you to wait when there seemed to be no hopes of me coming until nearly Xmas, but now there is every possibility of coming sometime within the next few weeks, I should like you to be away from the office when I am over.
Of course perhaps you may not be able to alter your arrangements to suit me, but Dearest don't worry if you are unable to do so, we will have a good time anyway. I never dreamt I should be coming so soon & I am delighted that I have not to wait as long as I had expected. But isn't it aggravating when they don't let you know these things a little more ahead?
I want this letter to go by to-day's mail so must close hoping for the best.
Hope you are quite well Dearest & that I will see you soon
Lots & lots & lots of love & xxxxxxxxxxxxx
from Yours only & forever
Fred
