Ottawa, Canada, 28th August, 1943.

Mr. W. M. Mouat,
Ganges, British Columbia.

Dear Mr. Mouat:

Confirming my telegram of recent date, I am pleased to inform you that advice has been received through the International Red Cross quoting German information that your son, Pilot Officer William Ivan Mouat, is now a prisoner of war.

It is a pleasure to convey this further information as I feel it will relieve to some extent the great anxiety endured by you and Mrs. Mouat.

Attached is a leaflet giving particulars of Departments and Organizations from whom you can obtain advice and assistance, together with a few notes regarding personal effects, promotions, etc.

May I again assure you that any additional details received at these Headquarters will be communicated to you immediately.

Yours sincerely,
(signed)
