Dear Mother:-

Well I havnt had a letter from home yet only the one but there ought to be one for me to-day. We are to get onto the Boat to-night or to-morrow we are not sure which. We havnt done hardly anything since we came here. They did drill a little. but we have just been waiting for the Board. This is not so bad a place as I thought it would be. I was down at the dock last night Fred Hurley and I to see the Big Boats there is 3 cruisers but They are only for Coast Guard. they are not awfully Big. But they look just the same as They do in the pictures you see of them. I got paid But I am going to keep it for it is hard to say I may need it before I get over there. but you should get your 2[?] about the 5 or 6 of Sept for this month. Now when you write address it to Halifax and be sure and put my number on it and I think it will be sent to us but as soon as I get there I will write and give you my address I guess this is all now write soon.

Love to all

John
